History
St. Michael and All Angels’ was organized in 1957. Thirty-two people participated in the first organized worship service of this “North Trenholm Mission” September 8, 1957, at Satchel Ford Elementary School in Columbia, SC.
Three weeks later, on the Feast Day of St. Michael and All Angels’, local Episcopal Churches held “Going Forth” services and official transfers of parishioners to the new mission were received. Fittingly, the parish was named for St. Michael and All Angels.
In October, 1958, the Reverend James C. Fenhagen conducted his first service as a full-time rector. The mission acquired full parish status by March, 1959.
