St. Michael

The Archangel Michael is the chief of all archangels and ranks the greatest among the angels in the religious lore of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Michael is a warrior and the angel of justice. This is why there is always a set of scales of justice somewhere in the depiction of Michael. Michael overthrew Satan when Satan made an attempt to overthrow God. The defeat of Satan always shows a figure conquered by Michael a figure part human, a part dragon. Michael was in the "burning bush" that Moses saw on Mt. Sinai. The flames may have been Michael himself. It was Michael who told Mary, the mother of Jesus, when she would die. It was Michael who fought with Satan to determine who would bury the body of Moses.
